The March of Time (new poem)

The March of Time (new poem)

by Tim Kavi

relentless and cruel

the march of time

scratches the face

of all that lives

like a stream

becomes a river

opens into the ocean

and is taken up again

to the clouds

Nature claws a foothold

over the abyss

for the rain

brings a promise

of a flowery kiss

a drink

to the desert

what time has forgot?

eternal love

dotes like a constant

gardener and scribe

who writes down

the lines of Nature

like a poet

burns in consuming fire

aged and young

are both victims

and reverential fans

of discovery

of what is

promises to be

songs not yet written

and a love to be lived.

Quantum Foams (New Poem)

Quantum Foams
by Tim Kavi

when walking
among the cloudy nebulae
there is a great expanse
to the end I cannot see

yet there is a horizon
ancients saw
the end of the world

sailing off of it
we travel faster than light
but still there is too much
around the curve
I encounter the former me

but what is this?
more than we can ever know
and see
in the tiniest atoms
the I; we cease to be?

marvelous majesty
and mystery
uttering things too
wonderful
like star crossed
destiny

think what you want?
imagine what you see
in the quantum foams
there is every chance
you will discover it

determined by your
choices; yet remaining free
even in the depths
there is plenty of room
at the bottom

particles float
in fixed yet uncertain
orbits; hovering
in suspended clouds
of galactic dust

my hand goes through
the wall
my spirit is in my body
my mind embodied
becomes material
it travels
yet bound by this tent

yearning for release
to travel another day
far and away
down and below
through eternity

finite in infinite
soupy Creator's sea
the wonders are too
great for me

and when the Sirens
announce land is drawing
close; I will open
my sailor's eye
but cannot trust what
I hear and see

for if there is only the port
of this existence
I am left to ponder
and have many things
left by faith to believe

so I keep searching
walking from within
and without
quantum foams
swirling all about.

Shadows on the Wall (Are Dancing!) New Poem - with Poet's Afterword

Shadows on the Wall
(Are Dancing!)
by Tim Kavi

held there
transfixed
bound
like Prometheus
no ground

of being
except what they
make come to light
and seem to say

glorious images
all human truth
knowledge grows
lively in youth

blades of grass
representing as else
playing symbols
in the mind of self

representing
concentrating
only what is seen
draws nothing
in eternal sheen

I see them there
shadowed objects
some knave
trickery hands
move in light's grave

their beauty
fascinates
captivates
makes me crave
another wave

all seems right
orderly
referentially
depicted
my mind bends
to reality's
shifted
blends

crashing
crushing
oppression
false beliefs
lead to
depression

utterances
in the night
deafened ears
blinded sight

yet I crave
for what the
shadows say to me
play to me
in the cave

for all is
orderly
predictable
nice
without uncertainty's
spice

but what is
this?
but a kiss
of chaos
in the scene

something
is moving
bending
blending
is grooving

in the putrid
stench
pungent dead
air

the shadows
have started
dancing
no longer appear

to be what
they once said
freedom
is alive
in a new light

I see
something new
at the mouth
of the cave

shadows
are dancing
now
I hear?
them behind
me

moving
out of frame
no longer my
reference
can I blame

I want to
rise up and
join them

but this
body
has me chained

my Spirit
starts tapping
my soul
is clapping

as I see
what makes
the dancing

it is the
love
of you and me.

Poet's Afterword:
A reference to Plato's allegory of the cave with a Kavi mix; here,   Love is transcendent, meanwhile I am bound like all of you, waiting for someone (the Goddess?) to say:  loose him and let him go.--TK
