There is Nothing, There is Someone (new poem)

There is Nothing, There is Someone (new poem)
by Tim Kavi

there is nothing-

ness you say

but I think there is something!

there is war

in the world

but I say we must never give up hope!

there is longing

and loneliness

in the machine minds

of reduced humanity.

until one cries out for connection

there comes a new connection

a springing forth

there is hate and prejudice

all over the world

but I say there! is where

love and binding together

must heal!

there is sickness and pandemic

breeding grounds of fear

there is where we must transcend,

comfort, even ourselves

to live again.

to never be forgotten

to arise from the destruction

with wings of hope

beyond despair!

so, that is something

that is human!

That is what I see there!

in such a world

stand strong in love

for each other

and by each other

we are all we have

each other

to see us, get us,

through

survival of the fittest?

survival of those that love!

Catch the Sparrow (New Poem)

Catch the Sparrow (New Poem)
by Tim Kavi

catch the sparrow
while they take wing
catch the sparrow
as they take flight
so you may rightfully sing

gentle breezes carry
across the night
in the destined moonlight
one finds a nesting place

catch the sparrow
because Winter they do bring
singing their songs with a happy heart
catch the sparrow
you will find an awesome thing

flying on wing spans
carried away and above
in your lover's love
there is a singer's space

catch the sparrow
tiny but forceful and strong
catch the sparrow
fill the Earth with your song

catch the sparrow
beautiful breasted ones
catch the sparrow
until all the days are done

fair feathered ones
I see your feet in the snow
but I always know
your song comforts me

wherever I go.

Wayward Journeys (new poem)

 Wayward Journeys (new poem)

Wayward Journeys
by Tim Kavi

in the wild woods
of Wyeastern winds
I saw the bearded
prophets rise

I asked them questions
about what futures
would arise
they rubbed their beards

they had no answers
there were no easy answers
just pleading eyes
from my beseeching heart

You must never give up
one of them said
My heart is broken for the lost
another one said

yet there is a way
I didn't say it, one said
the wellspring of hope
and transcendent glories

of the human heart does.

We can do it!

observers of the vat (new poem)

observers of the vat (new poem) by tim kavi

There are some that say
we are but entertainment
cinema to the unmasked

basked outside the canvas
universal; universe-all canvas
of brave heroes, animas untold

in foreign lands, back home
dimensional palaces
outside tesseracted resurrected
mansions in our heavenly places

where walking across sandy shores
there are beaches of smashed
human castles, as epochs fade
history unravels in realizations

of absurd meanings
speckled across homecomings
to latex manufacturing
of synthetics; plastic to be heard

perhaps minding this place
in what seems to us
a vast cosmos; we are
in a vat; other beings to see

yet creating meanings
that search for transcendence
and finding freedoms
to move up higher

yet to find
meanings are in meetings
even other beings
a purposeful sea

so time moves us up from the vat?
what will we see?
another plane of existence
where we are partly free!

there is always the collapsing
entropy of seeming
decay; but one knows
intimately there is another way!

spoken only in shadows
of dreams and cave walls
the essence of human
spirits divinely touched

shall never fail
even if in a vat
or a cold cosmos
the heat of existence warms

itself in the love of being
loved and the discovery
of the free!

Confessions (New Poem)

Confessions
By Tim Kavi

Did you ever want to tell
Someone on fluttering wings
that you loved them? Tell
them again and again.

The flight of the winds and
currents of time and history
pulled at you, snatched at you
and carried you away from them?

Sometimes they did not know
sometimes they were unwilling
other times they did not care at all?

They may have even allowed the wind
to carry them away.

Yet you yearned to proclaim
testify and shout no matter what
a fool you looked?

That you loved them so much
while some said the culture, the times.
the language made you all wrong for them,
but in your heart you felt it was right
and they said it too, in their authentic
moments?

You tried so hard to in your efforts
because you never wanted to fly away
from them? The universe clutching you
in its mighty fist, while you were enclaved
in the rocks and cliffs of a despair
that never lets you go, and you could not,
would not, speak it to them?

Did you ever see in their eyes the
loathing wrongness of your fluttering approach
so that they missed you, not one bit? Until
famished, you are not hungry, until
thirsty, you did not dare drink?

Longing for them in the loneliness
of your despair, you loved, although
no answers to your prayer? Delicious
entreaty feeds your stomach with
the aching sourness of your existence?

Only to be told, they did love you
did want you, did need you, but they held
back? If only you paid attention, did not
faint, never gave up, hoped the
hopes that all is not lost? Until
the suffering quietness of their bold
assertion that they would 'love you forever'
but you found out they did not?

It is only then, that you realize,
know, absolutely certainly that you
are only alone utterly and can
only love yourself? Yet you did not
let go of that walk along the
narrow ridge. Searching for the bridge
to another human heart?

For it is only then that you can
begin to see the Other. Coming
from the other side of the
abyss? Waiting for their kiss?

Waiting so long that temples
fade into dust. Clouds eddy
together in the collapse of
empires, dynasties, and governments?

There is no unruly soul, as this;
those that thought love had
kissed but only was left to this?
The utter despair, loneliness, and
unwillingness of one who has lost
their way?

Not giving up hope, the Seeker searches,

crosses the rope bridge, that swings
in the wind of existence? Precarious
search to a blind alley, but faith
persisting, guides to habitat of heart,
reveals a path to that
certain kiss?

Of the Other lonely, and knowing
one you had found each other that
all hope was finally not lost? And
once finding each other, clinging to
one another with a grip everlasting
hounding, seeking you out wherever
you went in the Universe?

Knowing completely at last this, that
in your twin knowing there is only
the oneness of each other? Finding
peace at last in a love steady
and true, that never parts. As you
beat your wings in the steady above
and pulse of the other's heart?

To persist, to remember, to find love
again in the absolute surrender to each other.

"Puny" Human Existence (New Poem)

"Puny" Human Existence
by Tim Kavi

the puniness
of our existence
in the vastness
of the universe

filled with
such arrogance
and self importance

it is no wonder
that ego is the source
of conflicts
internal and external
that leaves fleeting
moments of conclusion
that seem like comforts

but in our "puny" efforts
to love
and to heal
truly great things
get done

and in our search
for transcendence
is the humbling
journey of the soul
to new paths
of being

to new planes
of existence
to enlightenment
and beyond

and why is it that
it is only the dancing souls
that try to restore order
bring chaos
and are hated so badly
because they loved so?

we are not just
DNA programmed souls
that happen to think

but are beings
on the transcendent way
to meaning
purpose
fulfillment
and love

remember this
that in that is the kiss
of what some
call the Void

the freedom to be
is what beckons
and the freedom to be left alone
and exist in the face of it
comes at great price

for in love
there is never alone
but only the giving up of self
in selfless love

to be moved
by compassion
introverted will
is not the struggle of the weak
but those trodding the upward hill
the narrow ridge
between Self and Other

that once remarked
you are not my brother!

and once languished
in the crying sea

there is only that unknowing
which shall become
the surety of all that is.

Shadows on the Wall (Are Dancing!) New Poem - with Poet's Afterword

Shadows on the Wall
(Are Dancing!)
by Tim Kavi

held there
transfixed
bound
like Prometheus
no ground

of being
except what they
make come to light
and seem to say

glorious images
all human truth
knowledge grows
lively in youth

blades of grass
representing as else
playing symbols
in the mind of self

representing
concentrating
only what is seen
draws nothing
in eternal sheen

I see them there
shadowed objects
some knave
trickery hands
move in light's grave

their beauty
fascinates
captivates
makes me crave
another wave

all seems right
orderly
referentially
depicted
my mind bends
to reality's
shifted
blends

crashing
crushing
oppression
false beliefs
lead to
depression

utterances
in the night
deafened ears
blinded sight

yet I crave
for what the
shadows say to me
play to me
in the cave

for all is
orderly
predictable
nice
without uncertainty's
spice

but what is
this?
but a kiss
of chaos
in the scene

something
is moving
bending
blending
is grooving

in the putrid
stench
pungent dead
air

the shadows
have started
dancing
no longer appear

to be what
they once said
freedom
is alive
in a new light

I see
something new
at the mouth
of the cave

shadows
are dancing
now
I hear?
them behind
me

moving
out of frame
no longer my
reference
can I blame

I want to
rise up and
join them

but this
body
has me chained

my Spirit
starts tapping
my soul
is clapping

as I see
what makes
the dancing

it is the
love
of you and me.

Poet's Afterword:
A reference to Plato's allegory of the cave with a Kavi mix; here,   Love is transcendent, meanwhile I am bound like all of you, waiting for someone (the Goddess?) to say:  loose him and let him go.--TK

Longing For You (New Poem)

Longing For You
by Tim Kavi

In my longing for you
I hear my own sighs
my woeful realization
reflected in those
sad green eyes

In my longing for you
I think I'm ill fated
arrived too late to know
Found I'm out dated

In my longing for you
I thought I'm going places
so lost and alone
in a sea of Asian faces

they all look at me

Can't you see
I'm the only one here
so suffering
let me be

In my longing for you
there is no saving
In my hungry heart
only a craving

for a love to be found

so I am turning
to the sacred ground
of meeting
and I am burning

but I cannot see you
behind the tears
of green eyes

in the distance
sleepless night
I think I see
the discovery of my sight

green eyes
full of light

you are approaching
in meeting

cosmic You.
