Baby, So Pretty You Are (song lyrics)

Baby, So Pretty You Are

Lyrics by Tim Kavi

Baby, so pretty you are

I can't believe my eyes

the angels fly near you

with soulish cries

Baby, so pretty you are

I can't believe my eyes

your love is telling truths

and never lies

I know your heart been meetin' me

Yeah baby, my heart is filled with your love

I know your heart been greetin' me

'cause baby, so pretty you are

I can't believe my eyes

Baby, so pretty you are

I can't believe my eyes

the angels fly near you

with soulish crie

And when the winds come blowing

baby I be knowin'

whose house I be going

cause baby, so pretty you are

I can't believe my eyes

And when the streets are churning

and the world be burning

I know where I'm turning

cause baby, so pretty you are

I can't believe my eyes

Baby, so pretty you are

I can't believe my eyes

the angels fly near you

with soulish cries

Baby, so pretty you are

I can't believe my eyes

the angels fly near you

with soulish cries.

~~Afterword: Did you ever just want to burst out into a song for your beloved? I did! And it started while my baby be sleepin; and I be creepin; outside her door, she brought me in and my heart she was keepin'! I am found, discovered, and had to sing this song! (except I'm super shy).~~TK

Catch the Sparrow (New Poem)

Catch the Sparrow (New Poem)
by Tim Kavi

catch the sparrow
while they take wing
catch the sparrow
as they take flight
so you may rightfully sing

gentle breezes carry
across the night
in the destined moonlight
one finds a nesting place

catch the sparrow
because Winter they do bring
singing their songs with a happy heart
catch the sparrow
you will find an awesome thing

flying on wing spans
carried away and above
in your lover's love
there is a singer's space

catch the sparrow
tiny but forceful and strong
catch the sparrow
fill the Earth with your song

catch the sparrow
beautiful breasted ones
catch the sparrow
until all the days are done

fair feathered ones
I see your feet in the snow
but I always know
your song comforts me

wherever I go.

Spring Arrival (new poem)

Spring Arrival
by Tim Kavi

you are the bird
outside my window
that sings

you are the snow
that melting
the river brings

you are everything
that arises

in the turning
of the new
you are the living
words
that love surprises

it is better
to be in your arms
and call them home
than anywhere

it is better
to be kissing
your lips
eye to eye
hair to hair

for your love
and sweet growing
purpose
has brought
me to you

Spring Arrival.

Heal Each Other (New poem)

he"Heal Each Other"
by Tim Kavi

and in the gleam of the madness eye
there is a long table
of eternal recurrence
that has no end
and no soulful sleeping

for the Earth has shook

but even there
is a between
transfixed
as I see my suffering
brother
friend
mother

Gaia
knows no earthlike song

in the collapsing
chaos
of poisoned
darkened
earth

where nothing
grows
but the distaste for
each other

such bitter
seed
nothing can grow
from it

until
they bind
each other's
wounds

her love
her creation and I
heal each other

before it is too late.

Warm Cocoon of Love (poem)

"Warm Cocoon of Love"
by Tim Kavi

I saw my wife
lying in
a warm cocoon of love

I saw my wife
a gentle one's soul
sighing and
walking on clouds
above

upon sweet
gentle breezes
to me she was brung

Until the day's
precious song
was more beautifully
sung

I saw my wife
in the morning
eyes opened
from her soft place
in my safe arms

her smile shone
like the dawning
sun

emerging
from a warm cocoon
of love.

So Beautiful (poem with brief comment)

"So Beautiful"
by Tim Kavi

Artemis
my goddess
and my love
You are so beautiful
that all of nature

sees you and smiles
trees bend to bow before you
the wind cools you
and the gentle rain
refreshes you

gentle goddess
because you have
walked through the rain
all below
nearly faint
to follow
you to your sacred
hollow

you have eased our pain
healed our sickness
and sang the endless
songs

until gathered
around us
the oldsters
tell your histories
that become myths
to the generations
that follow.

poet's brief comment: Artemis was not chosen by accident, but with deep intentional symbolism for this poem. I will not comment upon why, encouraged readers can research her myth. The most significant aspect of the creation of this poem, is that while I was writing this poem I was in a sort of mystical state of meditation when her name came clearly to my mind and spirit. Or perhaps this was a state of confusion following my recent illness (in which case her healing is welcome).
