In Juno, We Sing A Redemption Song (New Poem)

In Juno, We Sing A Redemption Song (New Poem)

by Tim Kavi

Withered leaves,

Burdened and stained sleeves,

The Fall has become Winter,

The world has lost its center.

The streams wither,

Frozen majestic flows in time,

The snow comes late,

In a world filled with hate.

Cold hearts,

Shudder in isolation,

As Winter becomes Spring,

And a warm love it does bring.

In shadows cast by ancient skies,

Where whispers of the thunder rise,

Juno stands, a queen divine,

With grace that makes the stars align.

Her eyes, the depth of midnight seas,

Hold secrets carried by the breeze.

In every flower, in every sigh,

Her essence dances, soft and sly.

Protector of the sacred vow,

In love and promise, she allows

A bond that's forged in fire and light,

With every heart she takes to flight.

O Juno, guardian of the flame,

Who weaves the threads of joy and pain.

In your embrace, the world is whole,

A tapestry of heart and soul.

Beneath the moon's eternal gaze,

You guide us through life's winding maze.

Your laughter sparkles in the dawn,

An echo of the love reborn.

So let us raise our voices high,

In praise of you, celestial spy.

For in your strength, we find our way,

A beam that never fades away.

Gathering in your mist,

I am forever kissed,

The world awakes to your light,

saved by the coming of night.

Catch the Sparrow (New Poem)

Catch the Sparrow (New Poem)
by Tim Kavi

catch the sparrow
while they take wing
catch the sparrow
as they take flight
so you may rightfully sing

gentle breezes carry
across the night
in the destined moonlight
one finds a nesting place

catch the sparrow
because Winter they do bring
singing their songs with a happy heart
catch the sparrow
you will find an awesome thing

flying on wing spans
carried away and above
in your lover's love
there is a singer's space

catch the sparrow
tiny but forceful and strong
catch the sparrow
fill the Earth with your song

catch the sparrow
beautiful breasted ones
catch the sparrow
until all the days are done

fair feathered ones
I see your feet in the snow
but I always know
your song comforts me

wherever I go.

Songbirds (new poem)

Songbirds (new song)
by Tim Kavi

My little songbirds
Fly back to us, every corner and tree,
for we are tired of sad songs.

We long for you to let us be

Yet we await your sacred word
As the flowered gardens
are watered all over the world.

Is there a finish to the whispering whirl

By the sweetest songs ever heard
We are like they are
stretching towards the light.

Yet we long for Nature to bring us back to life

Winter has come and gone
no stories to tell
there is the beckoning herald

no friends do greet you, you flew here alone

the red robin is coming
the whip-poor-will
the blue jay and cardinal

do mock the crow's song

until we sing no song alone
roosting on hearths near home
there is a nesting brood

yet not all is at is seems

to celebrate Spring song
and Summer song's shrill
there is only the triumph

of my own song to be sung

chasing the currents to new heights
of glorified destiny
canvas unfurled

I long to fly with you
where you have already gone
to warmer climes

no time to dwell on unhappy songs.

artist's afterword: that's the Eastern Whippoorwill in the photo~~TK.
yet another afterword: Two weeks after I posted this poem, a bluebird showed up on my patio fence. The little cutie began chirping. When I went back there and spoke gently, the birdie responded with birdsong, not once, but twice. It was especially touching just after doing this poem!~~TK

white wings ( A valentine's day poem for the angels sent ones who bring us love)

white wings
by Tim Kavi

sweet flight
comes to abide near my heart
near me in darkness
waves crashing
in moonlit night

sweet kisses
words whispered softly
in my nurtured ears
when love departs
the heart misses

back the next day
growing near
footsteps sound like twitters
skittering across the icy branches
of love's delay

there is a drawing near
two hearts beat
as love lights the sure path
across the meadowed Spring
love has found its way here.

Spring Arrival (Poem)

Spring Arrival
by Tim Kavi

you are the bird
outside my window
that sings

you are the snow
that melting
the river brings

you are everything
that arises

in the turning
of the new
you are the living
words
that love surprises

it is better
to be in your arms
and call them home
than anywhere

it is better
to be kissing
your lips
eye to eye
hair to hair

for your love
and sweet growing
purpose
has brought
me to you

Spring Arrival.

New Poem: Lines of the Heart: A Message of Hope at Christmas

lines of the heart
(a message of hope at Christmas)
by Tim Kavi

after the bare
moment of life
there are lines
lines of the heart

tiny beats that carry a promise
of a life that will grow

and even in the beginning of Winter
there is the birth of divinity
celebrated all over the world

beats of humanity
that in that birth is a hope
we all know

look inside you
lines of the human heart
are everywhere

in the hope of a child
to be loved and nurtured
and held

in the hope of a people
who long and sometimes struggle
to take unknown steps
to a new freedom

in the hope of families
to find each other again
even though miles
and life has chipped away
at the core of the love they knew

in the hope of love
direct utterances and declarations
of our greatest hope
to never be alone
but to be loved and affirmed
in the uniqueness of who we truly are

there are lines of the heart
connecting me and you
brother to brother
sister to sister
connecting us to experience

hurts and sorrow
joys in the morrow
to say to the chained
you are free

and to walk in
humanity's greatest hope

enduring peace
and freedom

in the true lines of the heart
a call to dialogue
and to a response
only to become

who we are all meant to be
unique and totally free

from the constraints of body
to the oneness of us

so that in those fading lights
there are still lines of the heart
on some ECG
and monitor

transcending
to another place
lit by grace

hope still beats
in the lines of the human heart.

Too Many Words (New Poem)

Too Many Words

by Tim Kavi

there are too many words
in space
and not enough meaning
even if I dreamed them
every night
I cannot find them

for I cannot find you
my love
my delight
it has become dark night

coldness is wrapped
around my soul
like a blanket
and it won't let me go

my fears threaten
to consume me
but this is only my mind
when all around me
is the dying of light

the coming of night
is when shadows become immersed
in the dark
lonely songs I cannot bear

I awake
to face the coldest morning
snow has fallen
everywhere

fluttering eyes
open, I am
to wonder, rub eyes
to stare
see you there

I see all is beauty
in the woman
standing there

and the words
that had slowed like Winter
flowed in the promise
that if I kept speaking

kept writing
Spring will come there
in the hearts
of two

the glories of rebirth
as all the words
of love flow

while outside the snow
falls anew.

Seasons of Love (New Poem)

Seasons of Love
by Tim Kavi

snowflakes are the words
dropping from your lips
hanging in the cold air
your love warms
that space of Winter's kiss
burns hot like fire
verses spoken in love
never go out

your beauty
is like the dancing goddess
of spring
that brings life
your beauties revealed
like the manifest
unfurled creation of all that is
new

how can I escape the passion
and heat of your summer's love?
but I seek no shade
for your love is the sun
that rises each and every day

and like the harvest
in Autumn, the Fall
is a tended love
you know
I am but a tool
in your gardening hands
and a wipe to your brow

and in the seasons
of your love
there is a passing
and cool refreshing
as time brings us
together side by side

to the sunsets
of our love.

Love of Ci'an (Reposted Poem with Poet's Comments)

poet's foreword: After my recent entries about the primarily Buddhist goddess, Kwan Yin (Quan Yin) it reminded me of this poem originally from 2005).`~~TK

Love of Ci'an

by Tim Kavi

gentle breezes
flew from
Kunming's
frozen lake

I walked it
with my love
near Cixi's place

Then I heard
her gentle sighs
in the full light
of winter's surprise

where
in the hall of
the Buddhas
near a
Temple of Incense

your heart
was fully seen
in the ghostly sheen

mist of
winter morn
I heard
your whispers
to a future unborn

for in the
plans of Cixi
you were
overlooked
love was but a dream

wafting
in the smoke
and carried
throughout
eternity

yet it
warmed
my cold hands
with the gloves
you bought

across
the Great Wall
flying
to the Deserts
of Dunhuang

as beautiful
as Guan Yin

the wind
that blew between
us and brought
me to your wings

to your lips
two countries
two hearts

that had
now evolved
to mix together
yet now lived
so far apart

found
each other
in that first
destiny's kiss

but was
too soon departed

and in that mix
of winter's day
I heard the crying of Ci'an
broken hearted

scheming deceit
would bring the Emperor
at long last
a piteous son

so I walked
and you followed
down the steps
history there was undone.

Poet's Comments: .

Buddhist and Chinese themes: this poem mentions the Caves of Dunhuang (where sacred Buddhist cave drawings are near where the Goddess Guan Yin encountered the Monkey King). Guan Yin the Bodhisattva or Buddhist Goddess of Compassion is mentioned in the poem as well. The setting of the poem is in China at The Summer Palace in Beijing. Kunming Lake is there, and I did walk on the frozen lake in the Winter of 2005. Later that day, I also had the pleasure of touring the grounds of the Summer Palace, including the Long Corridor and at the very highest point, the Buddhist Temple of Incense. This was in part, a building with a very large Buddha in it and many other Buddhas lined the walls of that place.

The Summer Palace was one of the residences of the Emperor and Empress. As the Qing Dynasty ended in 1908, the last major empress to live there was Cixi who supplanted Ci'an. Cixi was a powerful empress, some would consider a despot and villain, others see her as very intelligent and highly political. Ci'an was the main consort of the Emperor until Cixi became the predominant one and bore the Emperor his only son. Where Ci'an was quiet, loyal, and an Empress known for meekness, Cixi was very much her opposite, skillful and manipulative, and ruling whatever she could with a conniving and mighty fist. Although an Empress was never allowed to make political suggestions, Cixi often did so from behind a curtain. Cixi became the main Empress, especially after the sudden death of Ci'an. Some believe that Ci'an was poisoned by Cixi because Ci'an had always been in excellent health until the day of her untimely death.

In this poem there is some encounter with a presence or ghostlike figure, such as Ci'an. Ci'an, who feels overlooked, is longing for love. Her spirit is felt by the foreigner who even comes from a distant land. Like incense, her symbolic nature as part of history spreads out over the Great Wall and then all the way to the Dunhuang caves (which is out along the Silk Road and near Mongolia) where she is like the goddess. As a counterpoint there is an outplaying of this tension between two cross cultural lovers as they are finding each other in love --shown in other verses of this poem. Obviously, some of the verses in the poem are between the two lovers themselves as they find themselves in this historical place, or perhaps, there is an encounter of a man with the ghost of Ci'an! ---- T.K.

Breath is Coming (New Poem)

Breath is Coming.
by Tim Kavi

breath
the pneuma
to dead Earth
is coming
like the approaching
horsemen
across the meadow
of winter

riding swiftly
not destroying
but giving life
the first breath
of spring
arrives

after the winter
she brings hope
and promise
of a love
that is
new life

tending to me
like a gardener
of love

her lips are red
her smile wide
and white
her eyes
reflect
the graceful
movements
of her certain
riding

and in her arms
I grow like a plant
with arms
outstretched
to the sun

of her
arriving.

angel in white (new poem)

angel in white
by Tim Kavi

gentle dusting
outcroppings covered
in Wintry delight

I see the clouds
thick and heavy
your love is full
of light

On a special
Christmas Night
kisses flowed to
an angel in white

she came
on a Winter's wing
glistening
pretty sight

Goddess of Winter
your warm
flakes fell
from heaven

covering us
all in a special
devotion
divine invite

wisdom
love
peace and joy
rush to you

swiftly
we take flight

enjoying
the words
from your Wintry
scene

we embrace
your kisses
in the warm
glow

of cherished sight.

Snow Queen (new poem)

Snow Queen
by Tim Kavi

enjoying the silence in your arms
the music of nature surrounds us

the white carpet on the ground
plays a dancing tune for our feet
in the glistening place
where your kiss is sweet

while the snowy crystals shine
I am warmed in the bed of our love
where your passion is the fire
of singing winter moments

and where your bed and breasts
made it always summer songs
music in my endearing heart

gentle drops drip from the snowy leaf
where a snowbird peeks
at the wonders

spring is coming
for soon the white sheets
that wrapped our love
must turn again to depart
in sweet songs of sorrow

due to Spring's arrival tomorrow

and in the vanquishing
of the long Winter Night
I catch a glimpse
of your new clothes
shining in the sun of Spring.

holiday Goddess ( new poem)

holiday Goddess
by Tim Kavi

seeing the advent
of promise
I want to know you
celebrate you
adore you . goddess

in your love
I will write poems
novels and sonnets
just for you

in your love
I will hold your heart
sacred in view

in my words
and actions
always a hug
never a shrug!

bending
blending
sending
rending
proper obedience
to the goddess
that is You

words can be powerful
pictures of expression
quiet actions
a lasting confession
of love

Holiday Goddess
your birthing
brings a happy news
stars fade from views
in your proclaiming
of a celestial love
a renaming
of hope

brought from above
