Gaia's Heart (new poem)

Gaia's Heart (new poem)

by Tim Kavi

there was the burning path

crackling in the wind

as I traveled up the mountain

to the shrine of your love

would your love save me

and the rest of us

in this burning world?

awaken, you said with a wink

as your gown flapped in the wind

it is almost too late, humans

your goddess said

Gaia shook with tears as they rolled down her cheeks

Her eyes were darting to and fro

for a friendly face

but there, the world had forgotten

your saving grace

it was almost too late

with urgency and haste

She speaks the message

save the planet

off-worlders may be too late

will Gaia act quickly?

to rebound, and save her living face?

silly humans

she said

as the Earth ripped open and bled

her heart was beating now

but not for long

in your reliance on me

YOU forgot that this was your own undoing

your swan song

change, redeem, reverse

don't just trust engineering

correct your poisonous ways

before it's too late!

Catch the Sparrow (New Poem)

Catch the Sparrow (New Poem)
by Tim Kavi

catch the sparrow
while they take wing
catch the sparrow
as they take flight
so you may rightfully sing

gentle breezes carry
across the night
in the destined moonlight
one finds a nesting place

catch the sparrow
because Winter they do bring
singing their songs with a happy heart
catch the sparrow
you will find an awesome thing

flying on wing spans
carried away and above
in your lover's love
there is a singer's space

catch the sparrow
tiny but forceful and strong
catch the sparrow
fill the Earth with your song

catch the sparrow
beautiful breasted ones
catch the sparrow
until all the days are done

fair feathered ones
I see your feet in the snow
but I always know
your song comforts me

wherever I go.

Goddess in a Garden (The First Day of Spring) (new poem)

Goddess in a Garden

by Tim Kavi

Goddess in a Garden

there she sits!
amidst the plantings
and the nurtured young

the beautiful flowers
and the growing sustenance
that the world needs

for longevity and peace
She stands majestic
glorious Kwan Yin

sitting upon a lotus
I know I saw her there
adorned with green leaves

cushioned by soft earth
tilled and touched by love
by gardener hands complete

there she lies!
every woman in the world
a goddess in a garden.

Gaia (new poem)

GAIA (new poem)by Tim Kavi

birdsong
rain's pitter-patter
children ask
plants; why
do you grow?

the sweet refrain
only calls
GAIA to see
what's the matter.

A Tree Overlooking Existence (new poem)

A Tree Overlooking Existence (poem)
by Tim Kavi

A tree, I'm looking for
where I'm the same
in Nature grown
And what is known
Flows in a sweet refrain

of my existence, la la

Where gladness pours
across the flowered meadows
where the sunlight feeds the tops
of the seated places
where my sadness goes in retreat

of my existence, la la la!

lost in space
from the Earth's froth, my roots
run deep into the watered ground
across the withered plains
there's a forest, by the winding brook

of my existence, la la la la!

collapsed in time
superpositions, gray matter
fired neurons across a landscape
bring disturbing visions that promise peace
something's not right, in the light

of my existence, fa la la!

We, my fellow primates and I
are sitting in the treetops
safe where we imagine we see all
heavenly thrones of power
dripping knowledge, like raindrops

of our existence, fa la la la!

there it is; the quieting path below
one we have sought,
in silencing reverence
as we descend and ascend
the ladders of the places we've got

of our existence, fa la la la la!

there in the calming spaces
of the open vistas
the countrysides and rocky
paths and highways
that shine to us

Peace! in the open arms of our existence!

I Looked At (new poem)

I LOOKED AT (New Poem)
by Tim Kavi

I looked at
water coming forth
from the rocks
streaming down
the mountainside
becoming a stream
a river
and then a mighty ocean

I looked at
the harbored life
living so small
I could not see
but still believed
becoming greater
swimming lives
across eternity's tide

I looked at
temples burning
incense in blossoms
of lovely surprise
becoming deities
in the smoke
that did arise
winged ministries fly

I looked at
my planet; hoping
for love to save it
some are sleeping
to garden it
to appreciate
Gaia's keeping
to nurture it

I looked at
starry skies
saw many suns
blinking in the night
realizing cosmic scale's
awesome humbling
powers; across the
vast cosmos

I looked at
me; and then You
saw a thunderous
glory in the meeting
of the between
You and I
face to face
in every place

where souls are greeting.

Garden's Delight (new poem)

Garden's Delight (Poem)
by Tim Kavi

The beauty of flowers
illuminate dusty corridors
of garden paths in my mind
their living love shines

wavelike webs hang on
forested branches of green
protecting the lovely living
things that move across forest floors

into lanes of memories
clearly defined and refined
by history's marching dialectic
across all time

on the porch, she looks
like Gaia, a grandmother sees
the sprouting earthy designs
she resigns to peace, for a grandma's love

is the garden's delight.

afterword: on the first day of Spring a poem about gardens and the gardeners of Nature in the ever tending wisdom of the ancient goddess and elder wisdom.~TK

Tree Paper Machine (New Poem)

Tree Paper Machine
by Tim Kavi

Tree
interconnected communicating
green limbs filled with life
bearing fruit
balancing energy in the shadowed forests
of Nature

becoming paper
dying leaves decay into the earth
seasons come and go
ideas transmitted
across the papers of existence

the ideas become machines
in the minds of those that seek to live
making tools that enslave
or make free
time and time again seasons

across the papers of history
annals of human created misery
transcending into beauty
that ascends rising
from the ashes

misbegotten machines
forgetting not our existence
the machines
have become our fascination
until what we say

is only through the interfacing
limbs of synthetic webs
devised by a network
tended to by machines

dependent upon machines
the gardens have forgotten
human attentions
and turn to seek one another
crying out in the night

of tree paper machine

the whisperer (new poem)

the whisperer
by tim kavi

to the seashore
waves crashing the beach
warm sunbeams
birds sound overhead

in a shell
held up to an ear
eager and expectant
smiling nature

a path of delight

to the expanse of galaxies
near and distant
warm or cold
a tide of human exploration
there is only the silence
of space

sought for hope
gathered in an embrace
I heard a whisperer.

Imagined Lines (poem)

Imagined Lines
by Tim Kavi

If One Were to Imagine
how beautiful Nature is
within and without
one would if not
for the trappings
of science, imagine
they are seeing
magic and beauty
at the same time.

Tree of Me (New Poem)

TREE OF ME (New Poem)
by Tim Kavi

I am rooted
drawn deep into the soil
my limbs longing for light

until the gentle ocean speaks
and the winds scatter
my leaves throughout the wild
wooded Earth!

There is only my existence
screaming in the void
fighting to stand tall
as long as I can.

Celestial Meadow (new poem)

Celestial Meadow
by Tim Kavi

gentle lands of rest
stretch across maps of peaceful
bliss of grassy green

my feet float on airy paths
of glorious silence
stretching to the horizon
sparse trees dot the place

that beckon to places
of pause and reflection
away from all the stress

away from racing thoughts
not just to survive
but to bravely exist

gentle bluebirds
of my Mother's voice
Gaia would you sing to me?
black crows wait to pick

but I know
that your beauty prevails
you will live longer
than humans have tread

oh pray
they will not kill you dead
for in your silence
they gravely mistake
you are not there

but there is only
too much noise
to hear you and be blest

but at moments like this
I only can gently walk
on the pillows
of your endowment

in the shadows of forest
and the paths of wooded trail
the stream flows nearby

into the ocean it flows
goes to the clouds
descends to the earth again
born again

to live again
and to see your glory
in forest, and stream
celestial meadows
where I see all my friends

playing again.

gentle raindrops (new poem)

gentle raindrops
by tim kavi

gentle raindrops fall softly
across glistening green skin
We and Nature
heartbeats as one
in the dawning sun

steam rises from the Earth
plantings of our love everywhere
gentle shoulders slope
of what tomorrow brings
in mountains of hope

in the passion of longing
love buds anew
while songs of birds flew
among the shadowed rocks

where there is only
the whisper of our kiss
enduring forever

the stream of love
and time carries on.

More About Goddesses: The Roman Goddess Diana (New Column)

More About Goddesses: The Roman Goddess Diana
by Tim Kavi

Diana is known as the goddess of giving birth, the hunt and the moon in Roman mythology. She is commonly associated with the woodland, possessing the power to control animals and communicate with wild animals. She is also commonly associated with the woodland, particularly oak groves, which are considered a sacred place associated with her worship.

Diana is commonly associated with other gods and goddesses that harness similar abilities to her own. She is one of the three maiden goddesses in Roman mythology who swore to never marry to keep their powers and abilities pure. Minerva, goddess of wisdom and Vesta, goddess of the home, hearth and family, joined Diana and took these vows of virginity, which were honored by priesthoods devoted to their orders. Diana is also commonly associated with her family ties, being the daughter of Latona and Jupiter as well as the twin brother of Apollo. She is often seen as working alongside the water nymph Egeria, who acts as an assistant midwife and Diana’s servant in Roman mythology. The woodland god Virbius will also commonly work alongside Diana.

Symbolism of the Goddess
Diana is often seen accompanied by deer or dogs, representing her power over the hunt. She will commonly carry a bow and arrow for a similar purpose. She was originally worshipped in wild places or in the mountains and is commonly drawn or depicted in forest areas. Over time, a temple to Diana was built along the forested shores of the Lake Nemi, an area that came to be known as Diana Nemorenesis. A shrine to her was also built on Aventine Hill for the lower classes and slaves to worship her. Male priests in her order are said to have fought to the death to become one of her own.

The festival to honor Diana was held on August 13, which was simultaneous with the festival of Hekate.

Associations of Diana with Nature
Diana is commonly used by groups that would like to collect more closely with nature, often taking on the role of Mother Earth for less traditional worship. She protects the menstrual cycles of women, encouraging them to honor their bodies and live in tune with the nature which controls them. Alters to Diana have often presented pictures of the moon, deer, dogs, white candles, clear quartz, jasmine, lavender or honey. These note her purity and her love for the outdoors while also honoring the pure light of the moon in which Diana controls.

Love's DNA (poem) (Tim Kavi's VALENTINES BE MINE FOR NINE! Posting 1)

Love's DNA
by Tim Kavi

Infinite loves
bend in the helix
that becomes the
model
of coded
instructions
for the complexities
of yet more
design

in a love
that speaks to
another kind
of bonded pair

there
in our love
is the Nature's
schooling
natural selection
of destiny's
twisting

purpose

until there
is no drifting
as variations
and plans
unfold

as long
as poems
and songs
and novels
and stories

have been told

there is the
power
of love
to code itself and
rebuild itself
again and again

this is the love
that flows
in the between
in the
meeting
of person to person

the memories
of the whole
human race
the ancients
knew

what scheme is this
what dream

but
biology's
revealing
of something much
deeper

still
destined
in the human heart's will

to love
to say
to utter
beauty and true
words
with power

that say:
I love you!

Poet's Afterword:  My first selection in Tim Kavi's VALENTINES BE MINE FOR NINE is a love poem that reveals that although there is plenty of mystery in a love at first meeting---there is always the code that gets lived out between two loves.More tomorrow!~~TK

Honey in Sight! (New Poem)

Honey in Sight!
by Tim Kavi

when she walks
and talks
I hear honey dripping

sweet dew is ascendant
from fresh petals
derived from Mother Earth
the dirt smiles
knowing the sweetness
is given

heaven to some
those in flight
line up like eager ones
awaiting sleep in the night

all wonder
the direction
of nearest supply
'tis my love ascendent
winged sweet bringer
of afternoon delight

back to the hive
our minds
all connected
stay in the Queen's
blessings

sweet nectar
stored
until the next flight

I see my love
silhouetted in the gardens
of the world
admiring her art

honey drops
in all her kissing
and hugs to last
a life.

Song of the Ocean, She Sings (New Poem)

Song of the Ocean, She Sings
by Tim Kavi

to the ocean
when your song
of released passion
warmed the mountainous
nights

to the Universe
when your singing songs
reached the ears
of God
God heard
your pretty voice

to the Valley
where bones
came to life
at such utterances
as this

I knew
you were the Goddess

to the mountain
where many tried
to scale up
but failed
and were jailed
because they knew not
how to kiss?

Your thick red lips
your darting eyes
your scepter
your bridal sighs

I was the lucky one
that ascended to your hips

with a song that climbed to your lips

dripping with love
and adoration
yet tasting like wine

I saw your Goddess laugh
and when the face
did shine

it was the temple
lights
where I saw
your statue divine

in the smile of you
I knew
that many kisses
and hugs were due

as the dew descended
there was the whispering
wind

a quiet voice
said Follow Me.

Remember (New Poem)

Remember
by Tim Kavi

the speaking
Goddess said
remember you
are my love

I am your bread!

I said:
how can I forget ?

you are like the rain
to the desert
the snow to the river

the wind to the long
lost sail
and the love
to the lovelost seeker

in the wind I hear
your words
in my soul
my obligation

to love you
with my heart
mind
body and soul

to look you
in the eyes
and see your Goddess
Nature

is to only
quake in holy fear
at the arising
and overpowering
love

that has come
to set me free.

I Saw a Woman (new poem)

"I Saw a Woman"
by Tim Kavi

I saw a woman
she was standing
in a clearing

she was very beautiful
I got closer
she was You.

we kissed
and Nature
was silent

she wrapped her legs around me
and jumped into my arms

singing whispers
were full
of love's calls

when I looked again
I saw an angel
her wings spread
in flight

she said
I will meet you
here again
tomorrow night.

the World is Flat (new poem)

"The World is Flat"
by Tim Kavi

your mountains
reach to the heavens
seas lap
at your shores
rivers flow from the mountains
there is rare earth
in your stores

trees and jungles grow lush
fresh and green
where the water fell like rain
on your great navel
a natural scene

kissing across
all longitudes and latitudes
beauty I mean

the Earth is flat
where I painted it
on your cute belly
with my kisses

where Nature is revealed
kisses grew
on the globe's
depictions
your sweet flat
belly

where the world
is seen.
