Just When We Start to Wonder (a poem of undying love) (New Poem)

Just When We Start to Wonder

(a poem of undying love)

by Tim Kavi

when often times

we look at the night sky

unhampered by urban lights

we see all the many stars

when we are walking along

the beach

or on a snowy path,

we are often unaware

of the great multitudes

that there is a uniqueness

in every flake of snow

or grain of sand

or a twinkling star!

So it is with our love

it fills us with wonder

and happy songs

and thankfulness to God

who is the author of love

and in your caring love

my sweet love, is the mightiest

of all Nature's demonstrations

of a caring love

of a doting love

a compassionate love

and an extraordinary love!

so just when we start to wonder

every day and in every way

our love schools us

and brings its happy uniqueness

to every day we awaken, and find

it again and again

saying: "I love You"

recreates a dutiful sense

and an ecstatic pleasure;

for when we show each other

our undying love

it is wonder-full.

Long Flight of the Arrow (new poem)

Long Flight of the Arrow
by Tim Kavi

some say they
are desperately seeking
searching like ghosts
master archeologists
among the dust
of ancient landscapes

others are explorers
of every geology
across their paths
but cannot find
the missing Shangri-la
of the utopian plateau

there are the dreamers
the poets
the undying singers
playing lived out melodies
on the shipwrecks of love
and the injustice of it all

but the long flight
of the arrow
finds them anyway
and because it is Cupid's
arrow; all those
missing arms of embrace

find their human place.

Jungles of Love (New Poem)

Jungles of  Love
by Tim Kavi

burning fire
on my lips
utterances of urgency
I know not what I am saying

my clothes
are torn
all is madness
in the gathering clouds

a storm is coming
death rides it
a horse
of war and pestilence

human made
or not

my stomach
has consumed
an unsweet arsenic roll

ecstatic trances
I have forgotten
the romances
with all this world
has to offer

I starve except
waiting for you
there is no word
except this

turn the ground
break it up
plow the seeds of love
and be not late

for it is planting time
in the fields of the world

break up your heart's
fallow ground
who am I?

no one
but everyone
who fears love has been
lost to the world

someone with a voice

who longs for love
to grow again
into a great garden

into a mighty forest
further along it's river
basins, to become
a jungle again

overpowering
overgrowth of human
and agape love

melting
flowing
back from the gardens
feeding the world

so how can I be silent?

oh but to only humbly speak
you dislike me?
I am become unpopular?
Laughing

I look into your face
and say I care not

a just love
lights my face
if you care only for money
or even for bread

there is yet a richness
a food of plenty
that ignores you
and my skeletal body
adores

only to be an instrument
of love
no more thundering voice
only for a just cause

the gardens of love
growing again in the world
please tell me

you will do your part
lest I die
of a broken heart.

eyes of the Dancing Woman (new poem)

eyes of the Dancing Woman
by Tim Kavi

enchantress, your eyes
catch me in moonlight
gentle orb
dancing there
sweet boundless moves
love is in the air

they flutter
bending me into
other dimensions
of divine light
eyelids blinking
wide awake in Night

the gentle rapture
of passion's drawing
song; sings heavenly
movements of power
where from afar
I know not the hour

I dared to look
into your Divine Soul
I am your sacred viewer
and saw your all
as your steps lit
the sacred hall

some say they were
smitten by a dancing
kitten; made perfect
in love hypnotized
not realizing your Greatness
had already mesmerized

I remember; your look
while your body below
contorted; in Divine
dancing soul
candle light romancing
glow; lit my heart whole

until I knew
all was undone
and uncovered
I cannot bear this alone
my love's secret
is in your dancing home.

Dreams of Love (Poem) With Commentary

"Dreams of Love"
by Tim Kavi

the searching
yearning
lonely ones
have their natures
haunted by
dreams of love

already those
who have
bravely loved
taste of
loneliness
and longing
sadness and loss
yet, moved by grief

are somehow
climbing back
to risk again
love's relief
searching for
true love

a lost rock
a rolling demise
like Sisyphus

yet knowing
the goddess in you
truly shines...

climbs again
and again
eternal recurrence
Beatrice
Dante's
purgatory shines
out of this hell

your love
always saves.
In the poem "Dreams of Love" I use some western references that makes my poem hard to understand by those from an Eastern culture (like China). Sorry--here my explanation might help you...(although as a Western Lit major you may need no explanation).

Beatrice is the significant female and love influence of Dante Aligheri one of the most significant poets of Italian literature. IN 1290 after her death he wrote La Vita Nuova which reveals the importance of his idealized love FOR HER as the inspiration for most of his works! His book: The Divine Comedy, likely written in or completed by 1315, describes a journey through hell an dpurgatory. I am referring once again as I often do , by using Beatrice, as another example how the power of woman saves a lost and directionless man.

Sisyphus, a greek character from mythology is another example of someone trying to leave hell. He pushes a rock up a hill in hell, getting to the top of a steep hill, only to have it fall down to the bottom again, and he must do it again and gain. Here in my poem, it is the type for someone who broken hearted at love, or searching at love, can ultimately transcend the perceived futility by eventually finding true love!

Readers, you should know this poem isn't about me, it is about those who still struggle to find love and then are rescued by a wonderful love at the moment when they need it the most!

so that is what I meant. of course, readers may look at other examples, or how it affects them...personally may be different from my intent in writing it.

NOTE: This poem is from my collection Emerging Goddess, and remains in my blog by permission of my publisher TiLu Press, LLC. Deleting it from the blog would have left my comments about the poem; lost. (alas maybe they should be lost! LOL)
