Meetings with the Promise of Any New Year (Day or Moment or Minute) (new poem)

Meetings with the Promise of Any New Year (Day or Moment or Minute)by Tim Kavi

across the distance/
things long ago forgot/
there is a meeting/
of what the future/
has brought/

lessons in time/
reflections of past/
truth in memories/
sufferings intense/
and joys unforgot/

there is/
hope in the New Year/
of what we planned/
for our futures/
in thought/

so speed forward/
never give up hope/
if you want change/
bring it and sing it/
your refrain has wrought/

across the widened gulf/
of meeting the other/
undisclosed surprise/
of the applied/
learnings you've got/.

We Found Ourselves (Poem)

We Found Ourselves
by Tim Kavi

when they said
to stay in our place
we scaled the wall
and we built tools

technologies to help us
in our journeys

when they said
the world had an edge
we sailed our ships
and traversed the ledge

when they said
the universe was vast
we discovered light speed
and on our way

we encountered our past

when they said
there's no hope
we smiled
at the instructor's ghost

we found ourselves
again and again
riding waves of glory
dancing triumphantly

we made history.

986 (the status of my being) (poem)

986 (the status of my being)
by Tim Kavi

sometimes it  flows
unstopped, flooding
the plains below
mountaintops of ecstatic utterances

so was my youth

words are stopped
up looking, upwards
at the springs
sources where the snow
no longer melts and
the rain no longer comes

such was my adulthood

we all have issues
I said, as the guitarist's
(self-imagined) fingers bled
bludgeoned poets on the
rocks below; shattered

pretending to be an artist

by questions that blocked
the streams where words
would flow; I've become
"the great imposter"
so I wear sunglasses
and lipstick

fucking lipstick
my anima does me proud

such I am now, confused
and bleeding, yet
98.6 the doctor said
it's nice to be normal again.

Splinters of Fading Time (new poem)

Splinters of Fading Time (poem)by Tim Kavi

Broken mirrors are but cosmic fractures lost
where hands once crept in space and time;
memory fragments of love losses

love of self, love of other, love of peace, love, love, love
with fascination to self visions at given points
in time; history lessons of the real
dark design

there is only the many forking paths,
each will cost
some thing

where hope is the redemption of dancing shadows
and existing love takes us to the light
beyond appearance; there is the truth
of daylight's Platonic shine.

artist's afterthought: This poem seems to be about the passage of time and the deconstruction of time. It is also about existence and Plato's Allegory of the Cave. Love is the transcendent function. ~~TK

The Table in the Wilderness (new poem)

The Table in the Wilderness
by Tim Kavi

the table
in the wilderness
where the Goddess
and I broke bread

lies broken
in the aftermath
of history

many have returned here
they look for you
and cannot find you

but You do not
come to every place
only because You
are within

you are every place
already
where we are
where we go

If only they knew it
would call upon you
O Goddess
in the disorder
Concordia
is the present one

bring me peace
as the ravens feed
the wild eyed ones

eyes darting
only you can cure
the madness
in the return

dear departed
Goddess
return again

found in the heart
always there
in a gentle touch
a loving stare

a hand that reaches
to the bowed down
that says to the lowest
come up hither
to higher ground

I see a table
spread with the finest
delights
the greatest silk linen

the most beautiful of all
thank you for being
here again

in this wilderness
of existence
found again

there are the singing ones
loosed in tongue
there are the dancing ones
loosed in leaps
like gazelles
stepping between mountainous rocks

a flower springs
in the desert
where did it thirst?
how did it drink?

I see You
every time
a manifestation
in our love

hasten
hasten
hold us again
we are waiting

at the table
in the wilderness
of Your love.

All Goddess! I am in Ruins (New Poem)

All Goddess! I am in Ruins

by Tim Kavi

OH goddess
how long have I languished
in this mortal body
my soul longs to know
and remember all it has been taught
as Socrates told Meno long ago

I visited your temple's ruins
some say Athens
has buildings that got tossed
by history,
to me You are my history

ever seeking
gently calling me to your shore
it is no wonder I came here
although you are sweetly present
as ever before

Athena, I know you led
many heroes back home again
and when I leave your ruins
I will take more of you home again

in goddess gown
my love's dress is rippling in the wind
the sea breath whispers her name
she is calling me
to a fragrant and fruitful love
to a certain future
full of life and love

she is with me
and I see Her walking
in each and every step

as we board the bus
tourists smile
and banter
I smile looking at the ruins
and seeing a goddess walk
beside me;

She breathes
and is a living You
yet she is uniquely her
she is quite simply
ALL Goddess,

and history
undeniable and relentless;
history, marches on.

History (New Poem)

History
by Tim Kavi

oceans of blue green
Quantum waves collapsed
Schrodinger's cat died in the box
harbingers of doubt
in the flavored purpose

black and brown
are the eyes of You
lips full and parted
gentle breaths resting
escape the sleeping You

In the face of marching
defiant of time
empires go to sand
while we have kisses in the dark
sweet love's embrace
are our telling of secrets
all over the place

Finally, no more hidden hearts
all is known, uncovered and true
Revealed Goddess
patriarchy is doomed
with You fully in view

no reason for mystery
this is the neverending recurring tale
simple and complex
the untwisting dialectic of reason
because You are history.

Ma Durga's Eyes (new poem)

Ma Durga’s Eyes
by Tim Kavi
Ma Durga’s Eyes
have over all time
cried thousands of cries
and uttered thousands of sighs

but none are more beautiful than my love's

her eyes have lit a thousand ships
home to harbor
have touched my lips
across many trips

her eyes are so wise.

Ma Durga’s Eyes
I need you so
to them I always go
to see the world
and each other.

there are no other eyes I know
I will return again and again
to her heart to go.

My love's eyes
are Ma Durga’s Eyes
her heart so true
that the eyes are all telling
of her many stories
from the countryside are yelling
out of the rocks and hills
the majestic spills
of water cascading down the falls
while the rest of the world waits in their alls
we hear the love in her calls.

Ma Durga’s Eyes of my love
of yesteryear and then
I knew them before
somehow
on another shore
but when I saw them again
her Ma Durga’s Eyes were different than then
her eyes are so wise.

Ma Durga’s Eyes
I need you so
to them I always go
to see the world
and each other.

my lovely Sweet love
Ma Durga’s Eyes
light where we have ever been
and they touch my heart so
where the Himalayan winds blow
and the currents of Ganges do flow

she is ever present in the wind
against the wind
she stands still

her eyes are so wise.

Ma Durga’s Eyes
I need you so
to them I always go
to see the world
and each other.

Ma Durga’s Eyes through history
tell many stories
they begin and end with my lovely love.
