Love's DNA (resequenced)

Love's DNA (Resequenced)
by Tim Kavi

Infinite loves are bent
in the lasting helix
that becomes a model

of coded instructions
for the complexities
of yet more designs

in loves that speak
to another kind
of bonded pair

there in our love
is Nature's schooling
natural selection

destiny's not fooling
twisting purpose
there is no drifting

as variations mutate
and plans unfold
across populated history

for as long
as poems and songs
and novels and stories

have been told
there is the power
of love

to code itself and
rebuild itself
again and again

found when sought
this is the love
that flows

in the between
in the meeting
of person to person

the memories
of the whole
human race

that ancients knew
and sang about
wrote about

what scheme is this
what perchance to dream
as biology's revealing

of something much
deeper; is yet
discovered in some scheme

still destined
in the human heart's will
the code beats

to love; to say
to utter
beauty and true

words with power
that say:
I love you!

writer's afterword--this is an edited (excuse the pun), updated, and resequenced (excuse another pun) poem; shared today for Valentine's Day 2019. Wishing you happiness, ~~TK
