986 (the status of my being) (poem)

986 (the status of my being)
by Tim Kavi

sometimes it  flows
unstopped, flooding
the plains below
mountaintops of ecstatic utterances

so was my youth

words are stopped
up looking, upwards
at the springs
sources where the snow
no longer melts and
the rain no longer comes

such was my adulthood

we all have issues
I said, as the guitarist's
(self-imagined) fingers bled
bludgeoned poets on the
rocks below; shattered

pretending to be an artist

by questions that blocked
the streams where words
would flow; I've become
"the great imposter"
so I wear sunglasses
and lipstick

fucking lipstick
my anima does me proud

such I am now, confused
and bleeding, yet
98.6 the doctor said
it's nice to be normal again.

observers of the vat (new poem)

observers of the vat (new poem) by tim kavi

There are some that say
we are but entertainment
cinema to the unmasked

basked outside the canvas
universal; universe-all canvas
of brave heroes, animas untold

in foreign lands, back home
dimensional palaces
outside tesseracted resurrected
mansions in our heavenly places

where walking across sandy shores
there are beaches of smashed
human castles, as epochs fade
history unravels in realizations

of absurd meanings
speckled across homecomings
to latex manufacturing
of synthetics; plastic to be heard

perhaps minding this place
in what seems to us
a vast cosmos; we are
in a vat; other beings to see

yet creating meanings
that search for transcendence
and finding freedoms
to move up higher

yet to find
meanings are in meetings
even other beings
a purposeful sea

so time moves us up from the vat?
what will we see?
another plane of existence
where we are partly free!

there is always the collapsing
entropy of seeming
decay; but one knows
intimately there is another way!

spoken only in shadows
of dreams and cave walls
the essence of human
spirits divinely touched

shall never fail
even if in a vat
or a cold cosmos
the heat of existence warms

itself in the love of being
loved and the discovery
of the free!

mental illness (i wish it were) (poem)

mental illness (poem)by Tim Kavi

i wish it were
journeys across space
and time; but it
isn't. I'd be happy
to find my mind.

oh, you've lost it,
some say? Lost
it? Did i ever
ever, have it?

Some say, oh
you'll be ok. Easy
for you to say.
You could have
given me a chance.
But you didn't.

The abuse, the
disregard, saw to
that. i wish it
were. That things
were different.

Maybe they could
be. Maybe they will.
It starts with
acceptance, or with
change. will you
accept it? Things
as they are.

Maybe that's a
thought. I wish
it were. I hope
you find it
they say.

Will you help
me? I wish
it were.

I Looked At (new poem)

I LOOKED AT (New Poem)
by Tim Kavi

I looked at
water coming forth
from the rocks
streaming down
the mountainside
becoming a stream
a river
and then a mighty ocean

I looked at
the harbored life
living so small
I could not see
but still believed
becoming greater
swimming lives
across eternity's tide

I looked at
temples burning
incense in blossoms
of lovely surprise
becoming deities
in the smoke
that did arise
winged ministries fly

I looked at
my planet; hoping
for love to save it
some are sleeping
to garden it
to appreciate
Gaia's keeping
to nurture it

I looked at
starry skies
saw many suns
blinking in the night
realizing cosmic scale's
awesome humbling
powers; across the
vast cosmos

I looked at
me; and then You
saw a thunderous
glory in the meeting
of the between
You and I
face to face
in every place

where souls are greeting.

brushes on canvas; (a work is done) (poem)

brushes on canvas; (a work is done)
by Tim Kavi

canvas on fire
with rainbows
of fantastic colors

lending a dark surprise
to misbegotten eyes
across fractured time
hypnotized

as lasting songs
fed by passion's grind
cathartic desires unfurled

as dueling arrangements
juxtaposed in symbolic
fires of mind
intertwined and hurled

tossed and thrown
gobs of paint
by artists sublime

in heartbroken rages
of mystical verses
spoken at altars
where eagles climb

as universal cosmology
points to infinite points
across starried skies

where mountains flowed
down to the seas
where purple waves
drowned in ecstatic cries.

no fast exit (poem)

no fast exit (poem)
by Tim Kavi

hey you
not so fast
where are you going?

I have swallowed
a globe as truth
flattened earth

has left me wanting
wondering
and now, wandering

where is the man
I once was?
the international

has consumed
all that he was
writing lines

in the sand
but it's not dismal
the voice

returns like a wave
breaking across the shore
where he still exists.
