Splinters of Fading Time (new poem)

Splinters of Fading Time (poem)by Tim Kavi

Broken mirrors are but cosmic fractures lost
where hands once crept in space and time;
memory fragments of love losses

love of self, love of other, love of peace, love, love, love
with fascination to self visions at given points
in time; history lessons of the real
dark design

there is only the many forking paths,
each will cost
some thing

where hope is the redemption of dancing shadows
and existing love takes us to the light
beyond appearance; there is the truth
of daylight's Platonic shine.

artist's afterthought: This poem seems to be about the passage of time and the deconstruction of time. It is also about existence and Plato's Allegory of the Cave. Love is the transcendent function. ~~TK

A Machine (new poem)

A Machine (New Poem)
by Tim Kavi

a machine
a machine!
is what I am
becoming in a world
of thieves

who conspire
lie low in dark rooms
to steal only
my identity
finding no cash
but who I am
stripped of meaning

so if you define me
telling me
who or what to be;
where are my stories?

for I am fashioned
by choices
that lead to driven
conscious identities

evolving over time
morphing into community
many forking paths
resolving into
the road less traveled by?

longing to be
and to remain free
you will never take
the real me.

Obsessions Connections (New Poem)

obsessions connections
by Tim Kavi

twisted wires
speak messages
to anonymous users
licensed
to fictional selves

twisting and turning
across the world
spreading messages
of love and hope

will the real
be known and found
or is it Plato's cave
magnified?

sometimes freedom
is just obtaining
an unrestricted IP address

and other times
it is the ability to speak freely
on the street
but there is always
a turning to a knowing
where even
in a Wintry morning

I am found
in the Yous across
the world.

geometry of places spun (new poem)

by creative artist Will Segerman

geometry of places spun
by Tim Kavi

above me
lies a returning circle
recurrent again
bringing me to the traverse
same path; timelines bend

below a line
there's a place
flatter than flatland
we exist as
miracles of grace

we move our beings
through space and time
alive and glimmering
where reality as we know it

are mere markings
for on the cave wall
are shadows dancing
in the firelight
of some grand figures tall

nothing else is seen
in the ghostly memories
of reality's soft sheen
there seems only what some
say it is
the land of dreams

and if the rest
my eyes could see
in some kiss or embrace
a devotion of the familiar
in some previously
forgotten place

so that when
the sun goes down
they tell me
tomorrow I am the same
I will not believe them
although I have the name

so that when
they tell me, that tomorrow
whenever, however it's done
will surely advisedly
always come

let me make sure
the world is not lying
to my senses
let me touch the appearing
warping gates
in the wall's defenses

but You are not there
my hand passing through it
the implements extended
I cannot grasp them
but I know something
was there; existent

collapsing space time
offers no regret
in the death
of memorable times spent
and yet

tomorrow I do awaken
it is another place
another life
and I and everyone
are different
so very different

some said forsaken
bought and bruised
reality's wave riders
forgotten and abused
but those beliefs do fade
in freedom's choosing gliders

fallen and shaken
fallible; yet rising again
there is only You and Me
to form them
in reality's contemplation

so be careful
when you imagine what is true
for tomorrow you might discover
that it was only You.

Shadows on the Wall (Are Dancing!) New Poem - with Poet's Afterword

Shadows on the Wall
(Are Dancing!)
by Tim Kavi

held there
transfixed
bound
like Prometheus
no ground

of being
except what they
make come to light
and seem to say

glorious images
all human truth
knowledge grows
lively in youth

blades of grass
representing as else
playing symbols
in the mind of self

representing
concentrating
only what is seen
draws nothing
in eternal sheen

I see them there
shadowed objects
some knave
trickery hands
move in light's grave

their beauty
fascinates
captivates
makes me crave
another wave

all seems right
orderly
referentially
depicted
my mind bends
to reality's
shifted
blends

crashing
crushing
oppression
false beliefs
lead to
depression

utterances
in the night
deafened ears
blinded sight

yet I crave
for what the
shadows say to me
play to me
in the cave

for all is
orderly
predictable
nice
without uncertainty's
spice

but what is
this?
but a kiss
of chaos
in the scene

something
is moving
bending
blending
is grooving

in the putrid
stench
pungent dead
air

the shadows
have started
dancing
no longer appear

to be what
they once said
freedom
is alive
in a new light

I see
something new
at the mouth
of the cave

shadows
are dancing
now
I hear?
them behind
me

moving
out of frame
no longer my
reference
can I blame

I want to
rise up and
join them

but this
body
has me chained

my Spirit
starts tapping
my soul
is clapping

as I see
what makes
the dancing

it is the
love
of you and me.

Poet's Afterword:
A reference to Plato's allegory of the cave with a Kavi mix; here,   Love is transcendent, meanwhile I am bound like all of you, waiting for someone (the Goddess?) to say:  loose him and let him go.--TK
