Voices of the Silver Winged Fathers (new poem)
Voices of the Silver Winged Fathers
by Tim Kavi
voices of the
silver winged fathers
your voices
sing like snowbirds
across history and time
instructing me
as a child
guiding me
as an adult
surrounding me
even when wise
there is only
spoken truths that linger
that shine
even in prisons
of my mind
the sadness
the sorrows of your passing
have all faded away
in thinking that longs to be free
guidance to
all that will be
voices of the fathers
still speak to the young
if only they take
the heart to listen
where not one moment
is lost;
we still live
and where life is
there's always remaining
a hope
that we can still
save ourselves
from weapons
from war
from streams of
flowing blood
you see?
your storied regrets
are not unheard
high and low
from mansions
of perceived greatness
to the crumbling
erosion of beating
waves against sandcastles
of faithless Divine
cast into the sea
we gather their
muddy clumpy remnants
to new vistas
new shores
and a faith in time
oh breathing
breathes of silver winged
fathers; yet you breathe!
we need
to listen
to sing your refrains
to not forget
the ways made plain
'lest it all be lost
we ride your heavenly
angelic wings
we won't forget what
you taught us
nor how you shined
for in your voices
never silent
and never silenced
echoes across generations
reaching but never
explained
voices of silver winged fathers.
Poet's Comment: It has been a little over a month since my father passed away, still I hear his voice and feel his angelic wings. ~~TK

angel seraph (new poem)
angel seraph
by Tim Kavi
angel seraph
your wings
carried me
to your heart
your love
and celestial view
when on heavenly
wings, above troubles
the humanity of you
your love soared
by your angelic goodness
love adored
angel seraph
your beauty is crystal winged
white, and plumage
so pretty, all winged
creatures fly by
just to see you
when in the songs
praised to your ears
by the birdsong
and human affection
objects of love
celestial flights
no better perfection
angel seraph
none have been observed
by mortal or immortal
more sacred
than any in flight
than the knowing bird
when going
to the nest of love
and the comforts
of home in might
your goddess shoulders
protect in darkest night
where gathering
all the young
clothed by nature's care
there is still
a mothering angel
seraph there
when going
to the mountains
of your love's abode
there is only a calling
to sit on your wings
where I'm never falling
soaring with You
Angel Seraph
over all creation
tended by your love.

Honey in Sight! (New Poem)
Honey in Sight!
by Tim Kavi
when she walks
and talks
I hear honey dripping
sweet dew is ascendant
from fresh petals
derived from Mother Earth
the dirt smiles
knowing the sweetness
is given
heaven to some
those in flight
line up like eager ones
awaiting sleep in the night
all wonder
the direction
of nearest supply
'tis my love ascendent
winged sweet bringer
of afternoon delight
back to the hive
our minds
all connected
stay in the Queen's
blessings
sweet nectar
stored
until the next flight
I see my love
silhouetted in the gardens
of the world
admiring her art
honey drops
in all her kissing
and hugs to last
a life.

delight of the dancing dervishes (new poem)
delight of the dancing dervishes
by Tim Kavi
your words
always amazed me
but look at your moves
dancing on the distant shore
the wind
only carries your wings in the air
your poetic flight as magnificient
as any gallant bird
the hushed wind
after is only your heart spoken
word
manifested fana
moves men
and women alike
as we are brought
down to Earth
with a love sense
not found in flight
for your words
are both for Heaven and Earth
and always after listening
there is a call to heeding
when we dance with you
as Earth approaches
cosmic night.

You'll float above the world and there abide..." Rumi

Valentine's Day (New Poem)
Valentine's Day
by Tim Kavi
I say to you and answer you
yes I will go with you
Come to you wherever you call me from
I am clothed in any garments
the warmest of all if needed
as long as I am clothed with your love
I am safe too in all that you do
your wings are spread out for me
as Goddess I know
sweet and full of joy
laughing
you will carry us both
on the wings of love
to the Milky Way
and far away from here
I know wherever we go
I will be safe
and we will return to our people
and to each other again and again
loving free
no matter what each dawn does bring
I am yours forever
and you are mine, gentle seraph
in a portrait of love
painted divine.

Summer of Cold (New Poem)
Summer of Cold
by Tim Kavi
Oh Majestic One!
We are clothed
in majesty
under the sprinkling rays
of a Winter's sun
You are there
giving life to everyone
Oh Goddess!
in the countryside
we are covered
under a patchwork quilt
made warm
by your love
there
they and I
are tucked
under your wings
where we
yearn for freedom
they think
they will win it
under the sites
of a gun
but I know
those ways
of discontentment
are never done
renew our hearts
sow our faith
break up
the hard icy ground
in our poverty
we are made rich
in those days
of dying harvest
rotting in the fields
there is decay
yet no dearth
of Your Love
in the sweet Earth
so we know
things are not
as they appear
until turning to you
instructed
we wait
and hear
change is coming
in Your love
we are already free
but those
waves of discontent
say to many
follow me
Yet I will cling
to your regal robe
daring to look
in your eyes
seeing history
unfold
until there is
centered certainty
in the people's cries
taken to flight
as new flags
are unfurled
we see the sight
we have each other
in a blindfold
Sister
justice
where will
it be told?
Sweet wife
of compassion
don't punish
us for our woes
just hug us
as we return
in your love
a knowledge grows
to be freed
in dialogue
from death
to life
from contentment
to strife
from suffering
to peace.

I Saw a Woman (new poem)
"I Saw a Woman"
by Tim Kavi
I saw a woman
she was standing
in a clearing
she was very beautiful
I got closer
she was You.
we kissed
and Nature
was silent
she wrapped her legs around me
and jumped into my arms
singing whispers
were full
of love's calls
when I looked again
I saw an angel
her wings spread
in flight
she said
I will meet you
here again
tomorrow night.

Departing Winds (new poem)
Departing Winds
by Tim Kavi
departing winds
carry the silent sounds
of captured stories
in the gliding winds
as eagle's wings
are spread
I wont tell their secrets
but will respect
the dead memories
that can no longer hurt
them
as they suffered
in their own mind's truth
what a wasted youth
of their seeking
shattered young ones
battered old ones too
beneath my flight
was the wasteland
of unconscious night
made present
in their sighing
the eagle lit
with healing branches
in its beak
if I could only speak
knowing there is sorrow
but flying
I will go and come back
the eagle
says
to heal more of you
tomorrow.

joint expression (new poem)
joint expression
by Tim Kavi
our joint expression
is like brick and mortar
built on the wall
of each other
until the one wall is
forever and every location
made eternal and strong
our joint expression
unfolds like a constant river
that flows
from the mountains
to the mighty oceans
This composed life
and love
is majestic and formed
by you and me
In our love
our joint expression folds
like a sculpture
of fine marbled
existence
within fine lines
and a shape
there is my face
and yours
that can only cause awe
and reverence
for each other
In our love
our joint expression
is the sound of two voices
each with a distinct message
but one central theme
In our love
our joint expression
is the sound of winged eagles
floating across
an ocean
of sound
resting in the
comingled nest
In our love
our joint expression
is a whisper
followed by a mighty shout
of both planes
of being and existence
In our love
our joint expression
is happy song
that moves listeners
to dancing hearts
and tapping feet
In our love
our joint expression
is so interwoven
that two become
so enfolded
that I cannot tell where You
begin
nor where I end
for we are one
In our love.
