Flitting Sounds (new poem)

Flitting Sounds (new poem)

by Tim Kavi

flitting sounds, Spring has come
mountain streams awaken from slumber
robin comes calling, tiny swallows
flitting sounds like ruffling paper
on the branches.

overlooking like a protector
arms outstretched while She gathers her young
mother Gaia in the Winter soaked trees
waters the furrows in the ground where flowers
will spring forth in my Grandma's yard.

there is everywhere a straining, a waking up
new phases traded for old states
where once the withered and dying
now teems with new lives, full of promise
and heralding birdsongs.

I am made the Singer of Spring
the lyricist of eternal hopes
in the face of even fading suns
We are made whole in the love and tender mercies
of Spring's arrival.

Catch the Sparrow (New Poem)

Catch the Sparrow (New Poem)
by Tim Kavi

catch the sparrow
while they take wing
catch the sparrow
as they take flight
so you may rightfully sing

gentle breezes carry
across the night
in the destined moonlight
one finds a nesting place

catch the sparrow
because Winter they do bring
singing their songs with a happy heart
catch the sparrow
you will find an awesome thing

flying on wing spans
carried away and above
in your lover's love
there is a singer's space

catch the sparrow
tiny but forceful and strong
catch the sparrow
fill the Earth with your song

catch the sparrow
beautiful breasted ones
catch the sparrow
until all the days are done

fair feathered ones
I see your feet in the snow
but I always know
your song comforts me

wherever I go.

Songbirds (new poem)

Songbirds (new song)
by Tim Kavi

My little songbirds
Fly back to us, every corner and tree,
for we are tired of sad songs.

We long for you to let us be

Yet we await your sacred word
As the flowered gardens
are watered all over the world.

Is there a finish to the whispering whirl

By the sweetest songs ever heard
We are like they are
stretching towards the light.

Yet we long for Nature to bring us back to life

Winter has come and gone
no stories to tell
there is the beckoning herald

no friends do greet you, you flew here alone

the red robin is coming
the whip-poor-will
the blue jay and cardinal

do mock the crow's song

until we sing no song alone
roosting on hearths near home
there is a nesting brood

yet not all is at is seems

to celebrate Spring song
and Summer song's shrill
there is only the triumph

of my own song to be sung

chasing the currents to new heights
of glorified destiny
canvas unfurled

I long to fly with you
where you have already gone
to warmer climes

no time to dwell on unhappy songs.

artist's afterword: that's the Eastern Whippoorwill in the photo~~TK.
yet another afterword: Two weeks after I posted this poem, a bluebird showed up on my patio fence. The little cutie began chirping. When I went back there and spoke gently, the birdie responded with birdsong, not once, but twice. It was especially touching just after doing this poem!~~TK

Gaia (new poem)

GAIA (new poem)by Tim Kavi

birdsong
rain's pitter-patter
children ask
plants; why
do you grow?

the sweet refrain
only calls
GAIA to see
what's the matter.

angel seraph (new poem)

angel seraph
by Tim Kavi

angel seraph
your wings
carried me
to your heart
your love
and celestial view

when on heavenly
wings, above troubles
the humanity of you
your love soared
by your angelic goodness

love adored

angel seraph
your beauty is crystal winged
white, and plumage
so pretty, all winged
creatures fly by
just to see you

when in the songs
praised to your ears
by the birdsong
and human affection
objects of love
celestial flights

no better perfection

angel seraph
none have been observed
by mortal or immortal
more sacred
than any in flight
than the knowing bird

when going
to the nest of love
and the comforts
of home in might
your goddess shoulders

protect in darkest night

where gathering
all the young
clothed by nature's care
there is still
a mothering angel
seraph there

when going
to the mountains
of your love's abode
there is only a calling
to sit on your wings

where I'm never falling

soaring with You
Angel Seraph
over all creation
tended by your love.

Spring Arrival (Poem)

Spring Arrival
by Tim Kavi

you are the bird
outside my window
that sings

you are the snow
that melting
the river brings

you are everything
that arises

in the turning
of the new
you are the living
words
that love surprises

it is better
to be in your arms
and call them home
than anywhere

it is better
to be kissing
your lips
eye to eye
hair to hair

for your love
and sweet growing
purpose
has brought
me to you

Spring Arrival.

My Short Story 'American Crow' is Published

My Short Story: American Crow has been published by TiLu Press and is available for Kindle and Kindle apps by clicking on the link below.

I hope you enjoy this story, that I enjoyed writing and getting ready for you. I think it is an interesting 'Fairy Tale of Urban Decay' that describes events that transpire when two older men encounter two young thugs on a repeated basis. Among the mayhem and Chaos, BillyBob, a seemingly omniscient black crow looks upon the events with great interest. The result is a song of redemption that only he can sing!

delight of the dancing dervishes (new poem)

delight of the dancing dervishes
by Tim Kavi

your words
always amazed me
but look at your moves
dancing on the distant shore

the wind
only carries your wings in the air
your poetic flight as magnificient
as any gallant bird

the hushed wind
after is only your heart spoken
word

manifested fana

moves men
and women alike
as we are brought
down to Earth
with a love sense
not found in flight

for your words
are both for Heaven and Earth
and always after listening
there is a call to heeding

when we dance with you
as Earth approaches
cosmic night.

2012 (New Short Poem)

2012
by Tim Kavi

2012
In Eagle's nest
we are called to soar
and must bravely take flight
only to be blessed
and escape existential night !

Gentle Hands (New Poem) with Poet comment

Gentle Hands
by Li Jili 李吉利 (Chinese Pen Name for Tim Kavi)
A poem that celebrates the work of Artist 冯涛
gentle hands
tested and found true
rode wings
of feathered friends
in view

gentle hands
sculpted lines
flowers
no darkness
never night
but in Summer's sun
so bright

gentle hands
with promise
drew
sketched
painted
inspired
by family's love
we too

gentle hands
breezes
of inspiration
birds flew in sky
landed on branches
ducks and other
fowl played
nearby

gentle hands
we came from afar
paid homage to
the creatures
who swam
and did fly

and saw
Nature's beauty
from 冯涛

gentle hands
so greatly seen
so near

from the artist
my family knew

manifested
in power and grace
they do appear.
Poet's Note: This is a poem celebrating the work of Chinese artist, 冯涛. Here my name is Li Jili which is my Chinese pen name. I recently had the pleasure of visiting his home and watching him work in Shandong Province.

Spring Birds of Love (new poem)

Spring Birds of Love
by Tim Kavi

pushing up through
the earth
petals leaves
beauties revealed
no longer concealed

singing creatures
of creation

screaming
beaming
responses to
food from the heavens
revealed

we see
the design
and manifestations
of Spring

sweet Notes
of Nature
transfixed there
as I beheld
her love
like Nature's
is a great care

the goddess

she is kissing me back
in the beauty
of our song

our feathers
are soft and sheen
never wrong

her Love
guides me
to a softer place

a nest
in her love
for we have
become the spring birds

outside
her window

free and in flight!

and in that soft glow
I saw her
that day
a sweet gentle dove
a singing robin
a mother bird
a sweet eagle
a flying
sure path
of her love

leading us back
migration
of two souls
finding
each other
again and again

through all time
for she is my mate
and in our bird call
is the precious
sounds of our love

a sweet wooing
a cooing
of love birds
hearts broken
when apart

but always
coming together
in one heart!

we fly away
some day
together
at the next dawning

into the sun
together
forever
even
when our lives
are done!

knowing a purpose
a plan
an understanding
that first
brought me to you
and you to me
the surety
the blessing

of that smiling!

Spring birds of love!
a love
so pure
that Nature itself
yearns for
and is made complete
in those birds
singing!

outside her window
we are there now
free and fit
in bodies destined
in spirits
unfettered and free !
